Breast surgery

Beautiful breasts are the dream of any woman - and breast surgery is a real and effective way of making it come true. The desire to improve the shape or size of the breasts may be associated with both small and oversized breasts, each of which can cause psychological and physical discomfort for the woman. Breast surgery can also solve other problems - it eliminates sagging breasts by lifting the mammary glands (mastopexy), and corrects breast asymmetry by evening out the breasts in terms of size, shape and other parameters. A separate problem is gynecomastia (enlarged mammary glands in men). It’s a problem that can also be solved through plastic surgery. Under breast surgery, there are various methods for inserting and securing the implants. In each case, the method of performing the operation is determined individually and agreed upon between physician and patient. Patients can assess all of the merits of the shape and size of their future breasts with the aid of modern technology — 3D modeling. The operations are characterized by a low degree of trauma and scarring resulting from surgical intervention, with the scars located in an inaccessible area and becoming virtually unnoticeable in just a few months.

Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation

Mammoplasty - breast augmentation - is one of the most commonly-performed operations in global plastic surgery. The high demand for breast augmentation is explained by the proven effectiveness of the operation, coupled with its short rehabilitation period.

Breast augmentation with the patient’s own fat (lipofilling)

Breast augmentation with the patient’s own fat (lipofilling)

Many patients are interested in augmenting their breasts with their own fat or breast lipofilling. Lipofilling of the breasts has become quite popular, while the technique for injecting the fat into the tissue - specially prepared at the GrandMed clinic - has been refined, making it possible to assert a positive result in most cases.

Breast reduction

Breast reduction

A breast reduction is an operation indicated in cases of a breast size capable of causing the patient to experience physical and psychological discomfort. During the operation, an incision around the nipple on the lower half of the breast is used to remove excess adipose tissue, skin and some mammary tissue, and the areola and nipple are lifted to a higher position. Breast reduction surgery is performed under anesthesia - the scars are reduced to barely-noticeable whitish lines within six months. The aesthetic effect is fully visible in 2-3 months.

Breast-lift

Breast-lift

A mastopexy, or breast lift, is an operation indicated in the case of sagging breasts caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding, age-related metabolic processes (loss in skin elasticity), weight loss. The operation involves the redistribution of mammary-gland volume and correction of the positioning of the nipple and areola; that said, only excess tissue is removed. The shape of the incision in the case of a breast lift is predicated on the specifics of the task at hand - where necessary, the incision may be made along the underbust crease. Full recovery takes 2-4 months.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia

Enlargement of the male mammary glands, or gynecomastia, may be caused by fatty deposits (false gynecomastia), the physiological particularities of the body, and pathology (hormonal disorders, metabolic disorders, etc.). Surgical treatment for gynecomastia is indicated in the case of pain syndrome, pronounced cosmetic defect, and obvious risk of the emergence of malignant neo-formations. Gynecomastia is treated by way of subcutaneous mastectomy through an incision along the edge of the areola. Where necessary, the positioning of the nipples and areola is corrected, which is accompanied by the excision of excess skin.

Breast asymmetry

Breast asymmetry

To one degree or another, breast asymmetry in terms of the size, shape and positioning of the breasts is encountered in the overwhelming majority of women (over 90%); among the factors — uneven glandular development in early age, pregnancy and breastfeeding, disease, etc. As a rule, the operation to eliminate this cosmetic defect is comprehensive in nature. Along the many manipulations to eliminate breast asymmetry: augmenting the smaller breast through lipofilling or with the aid of an implant, reducing the larger breast with its lifting, evening the size of the breasts via the insertion of implants of varying sizes.

Tuberous breast

Tuberous breast

A special kind of incorrect breast development is tubular breasts - a condition in which the shape of the breasts is reminiscent of extended tubes.  That said, tubular breasts may occur and be accompanied by a number of factors.
