Face Surgery

Facial plastic surgery is a specific set of surgical operations aimed at eliminating age-related changes, changing the proportions of the face, and correcting congenital defects or those resulting from injury. Depending on the goal, plastic surgery may be performed on individual parts of the face (nose, eyelids, lips) or be comprehensive in nature, encompassing a combination of operations - e.g. blepharoplasty and an endoscopic face lift. It is precisely this kind of facial plastic surgery (or facioplasty) that can achieve the maximum rejuvenating effect lasting for the longest-possible time.

Depending on the specifics of the procedure, surgical intervention is performed under local or general anesthesia. The use of modern surgical methods makes it possible to minimize the trauma from the operations, limiting surgical intervention to barely-noticeable incisions. Doing all of the required diagnostics, the experienced surgeons at the GrandMed clinic will choose and offer you the optimal method for facioplasty in view of all of your individual characteristics — anatomy, defect specifics, skin condition, age and anticipated duration of the effect. Innovative methods make it possible to combine instant-rejuvenation procedures with various face-lifting and skin-rejuvenating techniques.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty

Plastic surgery to change the shape of the eyes and eyelids. Blepharoplasty is indicated in the case of prolapsing fatty eyelids (“puffy” eyelids), sagging lower lids, “heavy” upper lids, drooping skin of the upper lids.  Surgical intervention envisions excision of the skin cover and the removal of excess adipose tissue and skin.  Procedures offered: circumferential blepharoplasty (upper and lower lids together), upper blepharoplasty (with an unnoticeable incision along the natural fold of the lid), lower blepharoplasty (incision on the inside or under the eyelash contour), as well as surgery for Asian eyes (correction of the upper lids and smoothing of the epicanthus).

Asian eyes

Asian eyes

The procedure to correct Asian eyes is performed under both general and local anesthesia. In the event of the formation of supraorbital folds, some of the skin is excised with the removal of a certain amount of adipose tissue. Excess tissue is removed through lid incisions along the eyelash line. The height of the sculpted fold is determined based on the specifics of the shape of the eyes and the patient’s wishes - overall, it can reach up to 10 mm from the edge of the eyelashes.

Face-lift

Face-lift

A face-lift requires a high degree of professionalism on the part of the plastic surgeon, who must expertly determine the extent of the required lift depth and precisely perform all of the manipulations without hitting nerves and important muscles. The guiding principle of aesthetic surgery is first do no harm, which is why the choice of clinic and plastic surgeon is extremely important. Weighing in favor of a particular physician would be the number of similar operations he performs on a regular basis. The plastic surgeons at the GrandMed clinic perform face-lifts every day. Patient age ranges from 30 to 80. The face-lift technique makes it possible to comprehensively eliminate all age-related changes on the face, neck and decollete area.

A forehead and eyebrow lift

A forehead and eyebrow lift

Plastic surgery to rejuvenate the upper part of the face. Characterized by low-level trauma and a faster recovery period compared to the classical face-lift. Endoscopic eyebrow and forehead lift is indicated in the case of drooping eyebrows (ptosis), folding, sagging skin above the eyes, pronounced expression lines (ridge and forehead). Technique: facial tissue of the visca and periosteum is lifted and secured through small incisions; visual control of the manipulations is exercised with the aid of an endoscope. Can be combined with other types of plastic surgery. Rehabilitation — 1-2 months.

Рlastic lips

Рlastic lips

Сheiloplasty is surgical correction with the aim of changing the shape of the lips and correcting “harelips” left after previous operations (performed in childhood).  Indications for a lip-lift: narrow intermedialis of the upper lip, thin lips, sagging upper lip, unsatisfactory shape of the lips, “gummy” smile. The method of surgical intervention is determined on a case-by-case basis: “bullhorn” lip-lift and lip-lift using the resection method, V-Y surgery from the mucous-membrane side, contouring, lipofilling, permanent makeup, frenulum surgery (in the case of “gummy” smile), corner-lift (in the case of droopy corners of the mouth), etc.

Neck lift

Neck lift

Eliminating age-related changes in the neck area can be facilitated by a neck-lift — platysmaplasty. This operation is indicated in cases of pronounced wrinkles, double-chin, ropiness, skin folds and fatty deposits.  The operation is performed by endoscope or according to the open, classical method — the choice of technique is determined individually. In the first case, the tissue lift is performed through mini-incisions - the healed sutures are virtually unnoticeable.  Under the open method, the incision runs along the outer ear to the hairline — this neck-lift method is indicated in cases of more pronounced age-related changes.

Fat grafting (Lipofilling)

Fat grafting

The essence of lipofilling boils down to this - the surgeon harvests fatty tissue through micro-incisions in the abdominal area. After processing, the fat cells are injected into the areas in need of correction using a special needle. It’s a surgical procedure that can be combined with other cosmetic operations - abdominoplasty, liposuction, lifting of the facial and neck tissue. Then, the injection sites are bandaged for a day.

Dimplectomy - an operation to artificially create cheek “dimples.

Dimplectomy

Dimplectomy - the operation isn’t complicated in and of itself, although we always warn patients of the need to think carefully about the question of creating dimples. With age, a dimpling of the cheek skin may become much more pronounced (even while resting), and can result in the formation of deep folds due to sagging facial skin (age-related changes) that would be difficult to remove.

Otoplasty (plastic surgery of the outer ear)

Otoplasty

Plastic surgery to eliminate defects of the outer ear and protruding ears - otoplasty - is indicated as the only solution for the problem of “sticking-out ears,” congenital or injury-related defects, and asymmetrical ears. The operation is performed on the concerned cartilage under local or general anesthesia. The incision is made on the posterior wall of the outer ear. As a result of the operation, which lasts 1-1.5 hours, the normal shape of the cartilage is reconstructed. Microsutures are removed 10 days after the operation
