Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty (plastic surgery of the nose) is improving the shape of the nose, changing its dimensions, and correcting birth defects. The result of rhinoplasty, performed according to aesthetic indicators, is that the shape of the nose matches the expectations and desires of the patient, and mind-body balance is restored. After rhinoplasty according to medical-reconstructive indicators, normal breathing though the nose is restored.

Rhinoseptoplasty (septoplasty) is correction of the shape of the nose with a focus on the nasal septum. The GrandMed Clinic also performs highly-complex rhinoseptoplasty operations with reconstruction of the nasal septum using protein-based thrombocytic cartilage.  Details.

Indications for rhinoplasty

  • Thick nasal tip;
  • Saddle-shaped nose;
  • Hook nose;
  • Deformation of the nose following injury;
  • Elongated nose;
  • Enlarged nostrils;
  • Interruption of nasal breathing.

Rhinoplasty technique

Plastic surgery of the nose is not always capable of achieving the perfect shape (the one that the patient “sees”), so the main task of the plastic surgeon is to improve upon its shape in view of individual particularities. The future shape and size of the nose can be chosen using computer modeling. Depending on the goals, rhinoplasty can be performed under general anesthesia.  Incisions are made under the wings of the nose so that the miniature post-operative scars are completely unnoticeable. The duration of the operation is from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Who needs rhinoplasty

Who needs rhinoplasty

We recommend that patients wait until reaching at least 14-15 years of age and boys – 18 years, to allow for final formation of the facial bones and emotional maturity. For patients in good health, there is no upper age limit for plastic surgery of the nose.

Reduction of the nostrils

Reduction of the nostrils

Enlarged nostrils (wings of the nose) can spoil the overall appearance of even the prettiest face. They make the nose look visually wider, larger and out-of-proportion. At present, those with this type of cosmetic defect have two options: constantly trying to visually correct the size of the wings of the nose with the help of color cosmetics while continuing to suffer the internal discomfort that comes from their physical imperfections, or undergoing a short plastic surgery to make the shape of their nose perfect.

Narrowing of the nasal bridge

Narrowing of the nasal bridge

A wide bridge of the nose makes the face plainer and heavier, and is often perceived of as a physical flaw. In certain cases, the shape of the nose can be visually corrected with color cosmetics. But there are also cases where plastic surgery is simply a must. Modern rhinoplasty has various methods at its disposal to solve this problem. In planning the operation, however, it’s important to take into consideration the unique features and proportions of the face as a whole.

Septoplasty

Septoplasty

Most people who have a deviated septum aren’t even aware of it, since they’ve never experienced any discomfort. But there are also those for whom a deviated septum results in visual curvature of the nasal dorsum and displacement of the tip, and also causes a whole host of problems associated with health and well-being. The operation performed to restore the proper positioning of the septum is known as septoplasty.
